About the film

The story is a powerful romantic drama that delves into the volatile yet resilient nature of married life in rural Nepal. It follows the journey of a couple, Chame (played by Prakash Saput) and Gauthali (played by Suhana Thapa), whose relationship is marked by intense emotional highs and lows. The plot centres on a domestic dispute: after a heated conflict and physical confrontation, Gauthali leaves her husband's home to return to her maternal village (maita). The narrative explores the themes of pride, anger, and social pressure, ultimately illustrating the Nepali proverb that a fight between a husband and wife is like "fire in straw" (Paraal Ko Aago), it ignites fiercely and suddenly, but often burns out just as quickly, leading to reconciliation.
